Emmy Awards: Faves and Fails
It may be time to celebrate the winners of our very own National Girlfriend Awards, but we’re still talking about the fab dresses (slash fashion faux pas) and the amazing awards (some winners got teary-eyed!) from Sunday night’s 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards. What did you think?
For fashion, we had a few loves: Heidi Klum’s modern update on the LBD (emphasis on the L) from Marchesa, Maria Menounos’ jaw (and hemline) dropping Ralph & Russo number, and Glee cutie-pie Lea Michele’s glam Oscar de la Renta. On the WTF fashion side, we weren’t sure if Anna Paquin’s armored Alexander McQueen gown was fashion-forward…or some sort of protection against True Blood vampires. And did January Jones mean to look part-mermaid in that electric blue Versace frock…or not?
For awards, we were psyched that Modern Family stole Best Comedy Series and Mad Men won Best Drama Series for the third year in a row. The inner Gleek in us (and everyone!) went a little wild when Jane Lynch, a.k.a. Coach Sue Sylvester on Glee, received a statue for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. And how cute was it when George Clooney so humbly accepted the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award? We were a little bummed that LOST, er, lost all but one award, but hey, all good shows go to heaven (or do they?)!

I thought the emmys were very funny this year.

She’s not a big star yet, but she had a tight fitting one shoulder pinkish gold dress that was great.
I loved the dresses and the fashion of the Emmy’s this year. I don’t exactly remember the names of the actresses but I do remember the outfits: loved the blue Versace dress with long train, loved Heidi Kulm’s short dress (I wish I could wear it), loved the flamenco-style dress from the protagonist of Glee. Ah! I forgot Clare Dane’s elegant champagne dress.
I didn’t watch it but filled in the next morning on the fashion (which is what I really cared about anyway). But anyways, my favorite was Claire Danes’s dress! Sexy, classy and elegant!
I think Claire Danes rocked her Armani Prive dress! She has never looked better! You go girl!
I agree that Heidi Klum’s dress was inappropriate (though if looked like her I bet I’d wear that dress, too!!!). January Jones is too pretty for that dress–the dress was wearing her, really. Overall, though, great clothes and quite possibly the best awards show in years. I had no idea Jimmy Fallon was going to pull off such a winner! Good for him!
Best Emmys ever! Jimmy Fallon was great and all of my favorites won! ..and of course the celebs (most of them) looked gorgeous!
I wish I’d watched it this year (or at least the pre-show) but isn’t that what E! is for? Can’t wait to watch the recaps this week!
I’ll be honest…I tuned in for two reasons…George Clooney and the cast of True Blood. I don’t even have to tell you how Mr. Clooney looked…you should just know. I watched Joan Rivers and the crew and I agree with her 100% on Heidi Klum: her dress was not appropriate. Model or not…its the Emmy’s.
