Tried ‘n’ True Hangover Cures
Summer’s here and so is going out for al fresco happy hours, day drinking jaunts to a local beer garden and barbecue boozefests. Whether you’ve over-imbibed or are just feeling a little under-the-weather on a weekend morning, our Staffers may not be experts, but we certainly feel your hangover pain. Read our tried ‘n’ true remedies and tell us how you cure a hangover, because here’s an FYI: looking and feeling hungover is never in style!
“Cold Chinese food, old little-kid movies like Home Alone, and Norah Jones. Sometimes a cold bath, or a banana and peanut butter smoothie.”
“Two Advil (fine, maybe three), a greasy bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel, and a monster-sized fountain Diet Coke. Then, turning my thermostat as low as the other occupant of my apartment will allow and curling up in a hoodie and sweats, followed by a nice, long nap so I can do it all over again.”
“Drinking water. Lots of it. Preferably before I go to bed, and definitely more when I get up. That’s the only thing that helps me.
“Greasy Chinese and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia re-runs.”
“The steam room is the only thing that helps. Unfortunately, I must go to the gym to access one, which means I end up doing a lame workout beforehand. Helps to sweat out those toxins!”
“A huge jug of Smart Water (electrolytes help!), Friday Night Lights marathon (Taylor Kitsch definitely helps to ease the pain), a deli BLT + Cheetos + Arizona Ice Tea, and a Snickers Ice Cream Bar.”
“My hangover-fest consists of at least three Excedrin, an XXX Vitamin Water, a whole wheat bagel, and either a funny movie (think Step Brothers) or a marathon of The Hills. I can’t think anyways, so I might as well enjoy some mindless entertainment.”
“A banana and coconut water, plus whatever’s on the TiVo!”
“Pineapple soda is the best hangover cure ever. I have been close to death and had to send my boyfriend out on a hunt for pineapple soda. He never lets me down, always returns victoriously, soda in hand and sometimes with a ham sandwich, too.”
“Combos and Diet Coke. It works!”
“Coconut water or Gatorade are a must, as well as a sleeve or two (or four) of crackers anddddd lots of reality TV (You’re Cut Off is my summer pick).”

Post a CommentI just don’t drink that much anymore.
If I wake up and I still feel drunk, then Taco Bell (any combo meal from Taco Bell will do), BEFORE the hangover hits me. If its too late and the hangover is already there, then the only thing I can do is sleep it off.
Black Cherry Soda for me….Works everytime…
bottle of water & 2 advil before bed… bacon egg & cheese sandwich, chocolate milk, and Metro water in the morning. fountain coca-cola also helps.
working out also helps, but it’s tough to get going! I think you sweat out all the booze!
I am a firm believer in the “drinking water before sleeping” cure. It’s probably better to drink 8 oz after each drink but what kind of fun would that be while you’re drinking…..I drink at least 2 full glass of water (at least 8 oz each) before going to sleep. Throughout the night you become reeeeally acquainted with the commode but at least not with your face
)))
“Wake-Up Call” I got from Shecky’s work instantly! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT
Know when to say when!
Water, greasy foods & sleep!!
Eat first, and drink lots of water!
I don’t drink anymore and never had a hangover when I did.
I need to try some hangover cures. LOL
A huge gulp of Pepto, and a Blue Powerade followed by some kind of burger…
I don’t drink anymore! HA
Hydrate is key! If water or ibuprofen doesn’t do the trick, Gatorade helps! It is loaded with lots of hydrolytes and the orange flavor works the best! Also, a personal favorite of mine is an eye mask! I have one in my fridge 24/7! When I’m hungover or even if I have a regular headache, I take it over and strap it around my head and lay down! They sell them everywhere for cheap!
cheerois or scala bread is usually the only things I can stomach ….lotss of water and sleeping it off
Advil, vitamin water, and sleep!
totally agree!
The wake -up pill is good as well….(I think that what it called..lol)
A bath and a mug of hot chicken broth. It sounds (and smells… nose plugs please!) so gross at first, but ends up being the perfect fix! After this combo, you’ll be ready to go for round two!
a banana, lots of water and sleep. one of the goodie bags in the past had a product i used for a hang over “wake up call” by alka-seltzer. pretty good!
Drinking water before bed, then the next morning having an iced tea, ramen soup and a turkey sandwich while watching a Law and Order marathon. (they are always on tv) The sugar and bread really gets my body back to mormal.
