Wild About Safari Style

We’re feeling the jungle love this season and we’re going wild over safari-inspired clothing and accessories. From crisp khaki shirtdresses to animal print accessories, we’re on the hunt for the best safari pieces to add to your wardrobe.

SAFARI STATEMENT PIECES: Modern takes on the classic shirt dress, camp shirt and safari jacket are some of this season’s hottest trends. The Aqua Cotton Safari Shirtdress ($98) at Bloomingdales and Bebe Halter Safari Dress ($139) combine utilitarian chic with feminine tailoring. This Three-Quarter Sleeve Safari Short ($54.99) from Banana Republic features classic safari details, like roll-up sleeves, epaulettes and flap pockets, but comes in a variety of great colors from traditional to bright orange and pink. Our favorite way to incorporate safari style, though, is with a crisp khaki jacket, like this 4-Pocket Sailcloth Jacket ($59.99) from Ann Taylor Loft which looks as gorgeous with jeans as it does a feminine dress.

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE: Really a fan of this trend? Pick up a statement piece. Diane von Furstenberg’s Printed Khaki Skirt ($365) combines several animal prints in a flirty full style. Take inspiration from the styling of this look with a cotton blouse, safari vest and feminine skirt paired with chunky sandals.

SAFARI ACCESSORIES: A chunky wooden sandal, like these Agreice sandals ($111) from BCBG at Bluefly and a stack of bangles (all Kenneth Jay Lane:  Snake Pattern Bracelet, $50, Studded Wooden Bangle, $140 and the Woodgrain Bangle, $45) are the perfect pairing for your safari-inspired look.

ANIMAL-INSPIRED ACCESSORIES: If you’re not adventurous enough to go head-to-toe safari, the quickest way to incorporate the trend into your everyday look is to add a single animal print accessory. Throw some wild over your shoulder with the Diane von Furstenberg Safari-Print Georgia Tote ($250) and add something spotty to your step with the Luichiny Women’s Rizz Oh Sandal ($48.83-51.42). Explorer Sunglasses ($24) from Anthropologie are perfect for tiger (or hottie) spotting, while Harmony Lane’s Safari Print Scarf ($35) adds a little c-attitude to any outfit.
