Off-the-Registry Wedding Gifts

Are you prepared for the madness of wedding season? Curve-hugging dress? Check. Hot date? Check. Dancing shoes? Check! Er, have you checked…the wedding registry yet? Whoops! If you don’t want to give your beloved college roommate a set of dishes, we’ve thought up a few great off-the-registry gifts that are thoughtful and totally affordable, too.

Couple’s Massage

Weddings are stressful, period. Treat your new favorite duo to a couple’s massage. If you know where they’re going on their honeymoon, call the resort and book it there. Otherwise, search for a local spa in their area (tip: spafinder.com is awesome!) and give them a card at the reception.

Wine Club Membership

Stay in your budget but still show off your amazing taste with a wine club membership. Whether they are wine connoisseurs or weekly entertainers, this is a gift that keeps on giving! WineInsiders.com offers four different kinds of memberships to cater to your couple’s liking.

Cooking Classes

What will the new duo put on all those plates they got? LocalCookingClass.com is a search engine for cooking classes for those who want to go pro or keep it casual in their own home. Tell them if they need a tester you’re willing to do it for free…as a part of the gift!

Gift Cards

If all else fails and you’re scrambling for a present the day before (we’re guilty!), gift cards to spend at the place they registered are a great idea. They can use this gift to get whatever they didn’t receive, and then some. Or American Express gift cards will be perfect for spending cash on their honeymoon.

Have a great idea for the perfect off-the-registry wedding present? Already married? What was the most thoughtful gift you received? Help your fellow Sheckster’s out!

These are great ideas. I’m getting married this year and would love all this. But these are items I can’t put on a traditional registry. So if any of my friends are thinking outside the box, then this is the way to go!

These are awesome suggestions! I’m getting married this fall and if one of my friends gave me this instead of the pots and pans on my registry, I would love them more than I do now! I gave a friend of mine a photography gift certificate a couple years ago. They were not having an ‘official’ photographer for their wedding ceremony or reception but they used the gift certificate to get formal posed wedding shots of themselves in their wedding attire. She told me she loved the gift because she still got the awesome wedding dress shot and she was able to wear the dress a second time!
