Rainy Day BBQ

We already gave you the scoop on what to wear to an outdoor BBQ, but what if the weather outside stays cold or a rainy day threatens your proposed garden party? We’ve got ways to make your indoor cookout just as awesome as an outside bash.

Décor

Bad news: Your porch isn’t gonna fit in your living room, den or kitchen. Good news: You can give the illusion of your typical BBQ-in bash with a vintage tablecloth (we love Etsy’s Crazy Mazy Mid Century Mod Tablecloth, $20). Add some flowers to your space to up the outdoor ambiance.

Get Grillin’

Forget firing up a grill (or asking your guy to BBQ for you) and worrying about all the messy (er, dangerous?) steps involved. This George Forman Champ Grill with included Grill Sponge (only $19.99!) is an investment for everyday eating, too. From traditional burgers to healthier grilled chicken, it’s a snap to use, plus it drains all the fat and grease you get from your usual grill session. Whatever you dish up, don’t forget to sunny your style up with an apron, like Anthropologie’s Strawberry Spots Kids Apron ($24).

Indoor Eats

‘Cue get rained out last-minute? Even if you don’t have time to get a grill, you can still bring all the BBQ goodness inside. Rainy Day Barbecue from SouthernFood.About.com features a slew of grill-less goodies. Try the Oven Barbecued Spareribs for your main, plus Picnic Potato Salad and Tangy Coleslaw as your sides.

Instant Drinks

Chances are you’re not a mixologist and you don’t have the moolah to hire one with such late notice. Put a spin on bland ol’ beers by introducing some flavored brews into the mix. A sixer (or several) of Michelob ULTRA’s Dragon Fruit Peach adds a dash of exotic to an indoor gathering.

Fancy Dessert (and favors, too!)

Indoors or out, order in at least some of the grub to haute-en the party. We’re psyched that Crumbs Bake Shop is offering up all-new girlfriend-friendly cupcake flavors in honor of Sex and the City 2’s premiere (these sweets hit the online shop May 21 at $27 and $22.75 in stores, availability date pending). Featuring yummy variations like Cosmo, Margarita, Oh La La, Vanilla Pink Sprinkle, Chocolate Praline and Raspberry Chocolate Curl, we can’t resist ordering these for dessert and giving guests a few as take-home favors.
