Fugly Shoes

Look, I’m a fashion editor. I heart shoes. High heel stilettos, wedges, cute and colorful flats and boots, boots, boots, my closet is packed.
But there are three pairs of shoes that would never make their debut in my closet, let alone on my feet: Uggs, Sperrys and Crocs. (Involuntary shudder). Now, I know it’s possible I just offended some of my loyal readers, and for that I apologize, but I’m just too passionate about the cause to keep quiet anymore. I don’t care how comfortable they are, these shoes are UGLY!…And you look silly (to say it nicely) wearing them. Woo! I’m getting all worked up.
Uggs were a huge craze in college. Everywhere I turned there was a girl sporting leggings and Ugg boots. I was hoping it was just a phase and when I entered the real world, those fuzzy wanna-be shoes would vanish. Negative. Why?
Moving on to Sperrys, AKA boat shoes, AKA the shoes my grandpa wore…on his boat. Ladies, these shoes were meant for old men, not you. Do you own a boat? No? Moving on.
Crocs. You may wear these for gardening purposes. This is all. Some kind of odor guard doesn’t make them acceptable for the public, nor does any level of “comfort.” That’s why sneakers were invented.
Phew. I’m feeling better. Now tell me what you think. Love your Uggs and want to defend them? Be my guest! Hate Sperrys as much as I do? Comment! Is there another pair of shoes out there that should be banned? Share! I love reading what you guys have to say.
