Take Five

Tis’ the season for parched paws and you’re going to need some handy help to lock in moisture. So take five (minutes, that is) to flip through our quick fix hand tricks (say that five times fast!), each guaranteed to keep your mitts moist when it’s chilly. You know we’d never leave you out in the cold.

For quick moisture when you’re on the move, this Hand Crème from Priel ($20) answers all your thirsty-handed prayers. With a blend of shea butter, avocado, cucumber, ginseng and aloe, your dehydrated digits will thank you for the pick-me-up anytime, anywhere.

The Body Shop’s Soft Hands, Kind Hearts Hand Cream ($10) is a light lotion with a powerful message. Made with angelica to shield and soothe, and olive oil to condition and soften, this non-greasy cream goes a long way toward happy hands. And the best part? A portion of the proceeds go to help stop sex trafficking around the world. Now that’s a hand cream that packs a serious punch!

We’re all a-buzz about this ah-mazing Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Crème ($8) from Burt’s Bees. While it comes in an old-fashioned tin, there’s nothing ancient about the modern day, moisture-locking concoction of sweet almond oil, aloe and vitamin E. We’re 100-percent sure that this 100-percent natural hand crème is the bees-knees!

Mmmm, honey, almond and coconut. No, not a fave new dessert, just a rich and creamy hand crème that’ll have you thinking of your next sweet treat! L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Hand Crème ($10) is heaven on hands as it penetrates quickly to nourish and protect your  mitts. And with a blend that is 20-percent shea butter, this balm is the bomb when it comes to moisture!

There’s a whole lotta lovin’ goin’ on. These Shea Butter Lotion Hearts ($12) by Tracy’s Treats melt in your hand (not in your mouth!) to provide plenty of smooth, sealed-in moisture. And they’re a handy way to hydrate when you’re on the go. We guarantee you’ll “heart” these hearts as much as we do!

Shea butter is amazing, but I use a cream from Bath and Body Works that has Parafin in it that is awesome. It is called “Lay it on Thick”.
